- Why hire an interior designer?For some clients, the sheer number of creative decisions that must be made when putting together a space can be overwhelming. Interior Designers assist in simplifying the process so that you can achieve the ideal end result. At Style Plus we would assist you in creating well-thought-out spaces that are functional, have good flow, and make your home unique to you in more ways than one.
- Can you help with kitchen design?Yes we can. We work closely with a kitchen manufacturer base on the North Shore. They have been designing and manufacturing beautiful, high quality, custom kitchens for 20 years. Our home page shows an example recently completed kitchen.
- What if I don’t like the design?This does happen on occasion. Don't be disheartened if this does occur. In subsequent design presentations, we have always been able to overcome those issues. Keep in mind that design is constantly evolving. Your sense of style is changing. And it takes time to create the perfect interior for you. Continue to use social media inspiration boards. Send us a text message or email if you see something you like while you're out and about. Stay open-minded, be prepared to take some design risks, and be honest about how you're feeling.
- How do I prepare for the first 90 min consultation?We ask that you prepare a detailed list of everything you want to achieve, as well as any relevant images of rooms, styles, or colours that you are drawn to. This allows us to have a more detailed discussion about your likes and dislikes, as well as better understand what you are looking for in terms of an end result. This data becomes our 'Scope of Work.'
- How long will the design take?It varies according to the complexity of your project. Expect to spend more time with us if you're having work done, such as new floors or renovations in general. It will be much shorter if we only update one room. Furniture and decor lead times also factor into how long a project will take to complete. We will be able to tell you how long the project will take after the in-home consultation.
- What budget am I looking at for interior design?That is a very difficult question to answer. There are numerous factors that influence how much it costs to decorate a room or a home. Consider the styles you like, the size of the room, whether you have any furniture or decor that can be used in the new room, and whether you need any additional work done or renovations completed before styling commences. Following your consultation, we will provide you with an estimate.

INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECT WORKFLOW
We begin with an initial free 15-min phone consultation to determine how we can assist you. You will then have the option of scheduling a 90-minute in-home consultation. This is your chance to ask our designer anything and everything. We also take a detailed design brief from you, conduct a style analysis, and create a wish list of products to realise your design vision.
Please keep in mind that the initial consultation meeting does not guarantee that we will take on your project. Following the first meeting, neither party is obligated to proceed. There are a number of factors on both sides (personality fit, budget, timeframes, design style, and so on) that may indicate we are not the right designers for you.
After the initial consultation, we will be able to provide you with an estimate of the overall costs following your meeting. This is based on how many hours we believe it will take to complete the transformation, as well as how much we believe you will spend on decor and furniture, as well as any trade costs.
If you are satisfied with the estimate, we will take a deposit and begin work. We will then present you with a concept for your space, complete with floor plans, samples for each room, and examples of the products we intend to bring into your home. You will also receive inspirational imagery related to your design.
We collaborate with you to ensure that the concept is correct. We walk you through the plan for each room and take notes on your feedback. This is our blueprint for taking your home to the next level and making it everything you’ve always wanted it to be.
We do not impose our styling preferences on you. Our designer will discover a style you adore and work tirelessly to make your home shine. That is why we conduct two consultations – by phone and in person – before presenting you with a concept for approval.
We will start specifying products for your home once we have fine-tuned the concept. At this point in the process, decisions must be made. Each room will receive a full product specification sheet with images, costs, and dimensions for each item we intend to purchase on your behalf. We will invoice you and arrange ordering and delivery with our suppliers once you have approved the products.
If you also require new carpets, painting, wallpapering, updated window treatments, or even joinery installed? As a renovation company, we don’t pretend to be in-house experts at everything, but we do work with professional trades that can complete the project scope. You don’t have to manage the trades, we will do it all for you.
Once all of the products have been purchased and delivered to your home, we will come and style the rooms to their full design potential.
If the house is also being renovated, the final styling will be arranged by the project manager.

- 15-min phone consultation: Free
- 90-min in-home consultation: $390
- Hourly Design Fee: $195
Consultation fees are based on servicing the Auckland area (20Km radius). We do service additional locations outside of the 20Km service area, however, these locations will incur additional travel fees:
- Orewa.
- Whangaparaoa.
- Stillwater.
- Dairy Flat.
